VerifyCitations is operated by Web Asset House. By using this site you agree to these terms.

What the service does

The checker reports whether a citation appears in the databases we use. It does not tell you whether a case is good law, whether a quotation is accurate, or whether an authority supports your argument. Results can be wrong or incomplete. You are responsible for verifying every citation before relying on it.

Not legal advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice. Using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone.

No warranty

The service and all results are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Web Asset House is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the service, including sanctions, fees, or other consequences of a filing. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us to use it, which for the free service is zero.

Acceptable use

Do not try to overload, scrape, or work around the rate limits or bot protection of the service. We may block access that abuses the service.

Third-party data

Case data comes from CourtListener / Free Law Project. DOI metadata comes from Crossref and OpenAlex. Their content remains subject to their own terms.
